A very nice example of a fret cut Past Master's Jewel.
The Jewel is suspended from two 9ct gold bars and a sky blue ribbon.

A Coat of Arms is centred on the ribbon which consists of a Lion Rampant
on a shield with another Lion Rampant on top thereof.
Below the Past Master's shield is the Motto "Re e Merito" (“This throught merit").

The Compass, Square and letter "G" is made of a silver and is mounted on a 9ct gold disc,
the circumference of which bears the legend "McCammon Masonic Lodge 221".
The reverse of the Jewel bears the inscription:

Short History of Warrant No. 221.
Warrant No. 221 originally issued to brethren in DUBLIN, on the 6th March, 1751.
Warrant No. 221 was cancelled by Order of Grand Lodge on the 2nd May, 1771.
Warrant No. 221 was reissued on the 4th June, 1772 to hold a Lodge in the City of Cork.
Warrant No. 221 was cancelled on 5th July, 1821.
Warrant No. 221 reissued to Wm. Graham, Wm. Stewart and Wm. Maben to form a Lodge in MADDYDUFF (i.e. Maddydoo), Ballymoney, County Antrim, on the 6th December 1821.
Warrant No. 221 was cancelled on 7th October, 1847 for non-payment of arrears.
Warrant No. 221 reissued to Lodge of `St. Germains' in PEEL, Isle of Man on the 5th November, 1858.
Warrant No. 221 was suspended by Grand Lodge in 1871 for non-payment of arrears.

History of McCammon Lodge no.221, 1897 – to date.
From the Minutes of the Grand Lodge Board of General Purposes dated 31st May, 1897 show -
"Lodge 221- 31 May, 1897 - Read Memorial from Bros. Duff, Houston, Walker and seven others praying for a Warrant to establish a Lodge in Ballymacarrett, Co. Down to be called the “McCammon Lodge.” Recommended by Lodges 132, 240, 655 and by the P.D.G. Master. Regular fee enclosed. The Board recommended the issue of a Warrant to the applicants to be numbered 221."

The Grand Lodge Minutes of 3rd June, 1897 show - "Confirmed."
Series three Vol. 8 of the extant Grand Lodge Registers shows reissued Warrant No. 221 to Ballymacarrett, Belfast as “McCammon Lodge” on the 10th June, 1897 - Alexander Duff (1000); William Huston (685) and Kirker G. Walker (61) registered along with twenty others from various lodges, thirteen from Lodge No. 132, registered 10th June, 1897. No indication as to Master or Wardens.
A Special Communication of the P.G.L. of Down was held in the Masonic Hall, Newtownards Road, Ballymacarrett, on Thursday, 8th July, 1897 to Constitute the new Lodge, McCammon Lodge No. 221. Amongst those present was V.W. Bro. Francis C. Crossle, P.G. Secretary [see The IRISH MASONIC RECORDS cd-rom]
McCAMMON LODGE NO. 221 WAS NAMED IN MEMORY OF R.W. Bro. T.A. McCAMMON, WHO HAD BEEN DEPUTY PROVINCIAL GRAND MASTER OF DOWN.
A total of 75 brethren registered up to 24th November, 1900. In most cases the dates when the degrees were conferred and the issue of certificates is shown.
There is no entry for the 1914 -18 War.
Series five Vol. 18 shown as Vol. 2 of the extant Grand Lodge Register commences with the registration of John Young, Farmer, registered 11th March, 1926.
A total of 140 brethren registered up to 12th June, 1952. In most cases the dates when the issue of certificates is shown, together with the occupation of the brother.
Series six Vol. 21 of the extant Grand Lodge Register commences with the registration of S. C., Plater, registered 25th March, 1953.
